If you drive without car insurance and got convicted of the offense in Huntsville Alabama, this information will be forwarded to the court and notify the department of motor vehicle and this state agency will issue a suspension on your driver’s license.

If this is your first offense for driving uninsured in Alabama you can get it reinstated immediately if you pay a reinstatement fee of $100 and provide proof current car insurance. Second offense or subsequent violation of driving uninsured will result to license suspension for a period of four months. Additionally, you will have to pay a reinstatement fee of $200 and you will still need to provide proof of auto insurance.

Other than suspension of vehicle registration, any car owner or driver of a motor vehicle convicted driving uninsured offense may be fined up to $500 for the first offense. Conviction of second or subsequent violation will be fined up to $1,000 or a 6 month driver’s license suspension or both.
